Plot summary
Plot — The Trial of Treasure
Lust and Just wrestle and Lust is defeated; Just disappears before he returns with Sturdiness to take reprisals. Inclination tries to cure Lust’s melancholy by leading him into sexual adventures with Carnal Cogitation. Sapience advises Just that material things are perishable, whereas spiritual treasure is permanent. They bridle Inclination, but Lust rescues him and is introduced to Treasure. She in turn introduces him to ===== PAGE 5 ===== 1567 Pleasure, but God’s Visitation rebukes Lust and torments him with pain. Pleasure abandons him to accompany Just, but Treasure promises to remain with him forever. Time destroys them both, and Just imprisons Inclination.
